Patrick Ikani (PhD)

Chief Operating Officer (COO)/Director of Programs and Operations

Dr. Patrick Ikani is an accomplished Public Health  and a program management specialist  with vast experience in project management and a strong background in development public health. He has about two decades (20) years of continuous professional robust working experience in health system strengthening . He is familiar with both health facility and community-based health related services, teaching and facilitation of trainings for different cadres of healthcare professionals including medical lab scientist, clinicians, pharmacist a human resource management and nurses. He has so many years experience across different areas of health including HIV/AIDS, SRH, Environmental health, health emergency, bio-risk management, malaria, TB, STIs etc.

Dr Patrick has served as Project Director/Country lead with FHI 360 Nigeria and had successfully led four different projects with celebrated milestones . these includes; meeting targets and maintaining epidemic control pioneer Nigeria global project, key population investment fund (KPIF) a 4million PEPFAR fund on HIV comprehensive prevention, care and treatment across two Nigerian states of Bayelsa and Niger. He also managed CHOICE  a global PrEP project and he implemented a project that defined the landscape for PrEP in line with global best practice.

Patrick successfully managed the first ever virtual care centre funded by USAID for improving faceless and stigma free virtual services through a for-profit  private organization and until recently MOSAIC PEPFAR/USAID funded project were in a year he led the team to a launch of  the generation negative(Gen-N)  for adolescent and young persons ( AYP) in Nigeria. Also led the development of the first PrEP training resources, national implementation plan, standard checklist for supportive supervisory and mentorship visit domiciled with FMOH/NASCP.    He served at both country office and zonal levels with a countrywide experience. He has led so many clinical laboratory implementation and served in several committees of practice. He provided technical assistance across the country and beyond and an in-depth stakeholder engagement cum management expert. Dr Patrick is an acknowledged mentor to many young professionals in public health with great passion. he is widely traveled across Europe, South Africa, Zambia, Lesotho, Uganda amongst others.

Patrick is a Ph.D. holder  in Public Health , Masters in Health Management (MHM). He is a fellow of medical laboratory science council (FMLSCN) in Parasitology and Medical Entomology, an Associate in Virology (AMLSCN), Science Laboratory Technology with specialization in Microbiology/Virology, A fellow of the International gender institute of the UN/ILO Turin, Italy.. He also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) National Teachers Institute /Open University of Nigeria. He is an Adjunct Professor of Public Health who has supervised over 10 Masters students and 3 Doctoral students and many undergraduates both within and outside.

He is  a member of International Association of Public Health Logisticians (IAPHL), American Society of Microbiology (ASM), Nigeria Biosafety Association, Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management (FIPDM), Association of Public Health practitioners of Nigeria (APHPON), African society of blood transfusion services (ASBTS) and Medical Laboratory Science Association of Nigeria. He is passionate about research and demonstration studies. A Facilitator/Supervisor, at the faculty of health sciences, Department of Public Health, National Open University of Nigeria and an international assessor to select foreign universities. He has several articles in reputable local and international journals and a great public speaker at several national and international conferences.

Ekong Emah (M.Sc, MSW)

Director Business Development & Inter-Agency Relations

Ekong has over 20 years’ experience in public health and development working at national, regional (sub-Saharan Africa) and international levels in the following program areas – HIV and AIDS, reproductive health, family planning, maternal, newborn and child health, water and environmental sanitation, and nutrition. Expertise in social and behavior change communication, journalism, program management, monitoring and evaluation and proposal development.  He worked as a reporter, sub-editor and editor in Africa.

He led the design of several country-level HIV/AIDS strategic frameworks as well as context-specific community-level field initiatives. Countries of experience include USA, Botswana, Eritrea, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania and Swaziland.

Mr. Emah holds an MSc, MSW and BSc. He is currently based in the US.

Hellen Netugu William

Senior Gender Advisor

Hellen has 15 years’ experience working in the development work space. She was a State Program Coordinator on SMILE Project, a 5 years OVC USAID Funded ActionAid Nigeria, a global federation working for a world free from poverty and injustice. She had served as the National Gender Equality and Human Rights Consultant for FIIAPP F.S.P: A-TIPSOM, Nigeria – European Union and Technical Manager Consultant at Foundation for Resilient Empowerment and Development (FRED), Nigeria on the Spotlight Initiative Project – EU/UN.

She was a Policy, Advocacy, and Gender Technical Advisor on ENR Project a 5 years HIV DFID funded. She has also worked as a volunteer with Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO).

Hellen has contributed to   several   different   organizations, including   determining   causes   for performance gaps and identifying developmental solutions in an attempt to improve organizational effectiveness., supported the development of policies to protect the rights of children, women, and persons living positively with HIV.  She has worked at all levels of government from the National to community level on different donor projects.

She has a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Education from Makerere University, Uganda in 2003. Presently studying a Master’s in Gender Development and Public Health at the School of Post Graduate Studies. She has also received a variety  of  certificates  in  short  courses  in  of  career;  Certificate  in  Gender  in  Health Development,  PMD  Pro,  Leadership  Management  in  Health,  Healthcare  Quality  management, Case  management  and  Child  Protection,  Emergency  Response  Management,  Building  State Capability (Harvard Center for International Development), Budget Analysis and Gender Budget Responsiveness, Policy Influencing and Advocacy, Human Rights Based Approach, among others.
